The worlds of country music and dance are about to come face-to-face on ABC. Derek Hough, a five-time winner on Dancing with the Stars, has landed a recurring role on the upcoming third season of Nashville.
Hough will appear in multiple episodes of Nashville as Noah West, a movie star who lands the lead role in a biopic about a country singer. His character will visit the epicenter of country music for the role.
The professional dancer will be pulling double duty on ABC this fall as he will also return as one of the pro partners for Dancing with the Stars season 19. He already has a connection to Nashville, because his one-time DWTS partner Kellie Pickler has also appeared on the country music drama.
This will be Hough’s second TV appearance on an ABC show. He had a guest starring role on the cancelled sitcom Better with You in 2011.
Are you excited to see Hough’s acting chops on Nashville? Could this role mean that his partner on the upcoming season of DWTS might have something to do with country music?
Nashville season 3 premieres Wednesday, September 25 at 10pm on ABC. Dancing with the Stars season 19 premieres Monday, September 15 at 8pm.
