Desiree Hartsock will get another shot at love on reality TV as the star of The Bachelorette season 9. The official announcement was made by Chris Harrison during tonight’s The Bachelor: After the Final Rose special though the fashion designer from Northglenn, Colorado has been in the running for the coveted position for some time now, along with AshLee Frazier, Lesley Murphy, Sarah Herron and Lindsay Yenter, who allegedly turned down the role.

Desiree competed for Sean Lowe on The Bachelor season 17 and was considered a front runner until she was sent home after the hometown date, no thanks to her brother, who ultimately sealed her fate in the competition. Check out her Bachelor journey:
Prior to the official Bachelorette announcement, Desiree revealed that she is ready to find love. “This experience is a lot to take in and it’s something that I really do believe in and I know first hand that the feelings are real and you can see it,” she said in a recent interview with OK magazine. “Ashley and JP are going to last. I think it works so if I was given the opportunity I’d have to think about it but I think I’m prepared to find love.”
