It was an unfortunate set of circumstances for Ami on last night’s episode of Survivor: Micronesia.  She put a little bit of trust in Erik when Survivor puts fans and favorites on the same tribe.  When Erik was on the chopping block (after Malakal lost their fourth immunity challenge in a row), Erik sold Ami up the river to Cirie, Amanda, and Ozzy.  When Ozzy caught wind that Ami was gunning for him, he decided to strike first.  The tribe voted a tearful Ami out, even after she tried to plead her case and convince them that her loyalty was to them.  Today, Ami spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview about playing the game a second time and which favorites she would have like to have seen this season.

Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview.

Hey everybody, this is Gina from BuddyTV, and today I’m talking to Ami from Survivor: Micronesia.

Hi Gina.

Hey Ami, how are you?

I’m fabulous.

Well you really had a rough night on last night’s episode, and I felt really bad for you. What happened, and how did you end up becoming public enemy number one on Malakal?

I think a lot of it had to do with Ozzy’s insecurity with me, and him just being unsure of where I really stood. He heard what I was saying, but he didn’t feel it, so I think it all stems from Ozzy’s insecurities with me.

Yeah, there’s a debate on BuddyTV’s website between myself and another writer. I think Erik was responsible for your dismissal, and my fellow writer thinks it was Ozzy. Who actually was the mastermind there?

I’m sad to say it, but I think Ozzy’s going to be the one on that.

Man, I’m going to have to pay somebody some money now. How did you feel coming back into the game for a second time? Did you have any new philosophies or any new strategies?

Well, it’s three years later, I’m a different person, I’m living differently, and a lot has changed in those three years. My strategy was, first, to get to know the other players, because you can’t really know what you’re doing until you know who you’re doing it with. Getting to know them was a big part of it, but the second Yau-Man was gone I felt that my game had very severely diminished.

In true Survivor fashion, there’s been a lot of twists so far. When the tribes got switched up and you ended up with the fans, who was your allegiance really to?

Still to Ozzy, and Cirie, and Amanda.

Do you have any opinions on the showmances of Ozzy and Amanda, or sort of James and Parvati? How do you fit in when people are pairing up like that?

Well the only way I could fit in is in a good threesome. I don’t really fit in at all, you know? They’ve got their thing going. It started from like pretty much day two, there was no getting in between any of those guys.

We know the game is really hard physically, but how difficult is it mentally, and how much does it take its toll on you even playing a second time?

You’re constantly second guessing yourself, or at least I was being in the position I was in. The first time around I didn’t have to second guess my position as much. The second time I’m like okay, where do I fit in? Where do I really belong?

Did you feel like, besides playing the game yourself, that you had to teach the fans how to play the game as well?

I don’t feel I had to teach them so much how to play, I feel like we more had to teach them how to be their own camp.

Is there anything that you think you would have done differently had you been able to stay on last night’s episode?

I really wish I could have sat down and had a conversation with Ozzy before tribal, because I know he would have understood where I was coming from. I just didn’t get that chance. If I have one regret, I wish I could have hung out with him and had a conversation with him.

How come the women will not take Ozzy out? Isn’t he a frontrunner to win the whole season?

Yeah, I hope so, but they won’t. The women are crazy, I don’t know. It’s hard for girls to stick together, and it pisses me off. Who knows how it’ll go, hopefully.

I’ve always wondered why the women of Survivor don’t stick together. What do you think that’s about?

We do, in reality we do, we need the guys around, it certainly helps you feel safe and yada yada yada. I think if we were stuck out there on our own, when we were women against men, we did really well together. If we’d just realize that we can get by just fine on the island with each other, it’d be a very interesting game to watch, to watch the women actually make it happen.

Is there anyone who wasn’t on the show this season as a favorite that you would have liked to have seen play a second time?

I would have loved to have seen Shane there, I would have loved to have seen Coby there, I would have loved to have seen Twila there.

So what’s in the future for you now? Any big plans?

I’m doing a lot of charity work with Survivors that care, that want to give back to the community. I really want to bring them all together, and actually start a foundation where people have access to us putting on a benefit for them in their city or community, where we can give back. I feel like we’ve gotten so much from this opportunity, especially doing it twice, and met so many good people, that I’d really like to see us coming together and giving back to our communities.

Well I really wish you the best Ami, and I hope that we get to meet up at a fan or charity event someday.

I would love it, I would absolutely love it.

I hope so. Thanks so much, Ami.

Have a great day.
