Monday night’s episode of Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious shocked us all by eliminating two contestants from the competition. Ilisa was booted for not bringing the right amount of sex appeal to her Janis Joplin cover, while Jamie was sent home for having weak vocals during her rendition of Cheap Trick’s “I Want You to Want Me.” We sat down with Jamie to discuss the drama in the loft, her future plans, and how much she really hated her makeover.

Hi, this is Don from BuddyTV, and today I’m talking to Jamie from Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious. I was wondering if you could give us some background on how you got started performing.
I’ve been dancing all my life, since I was three-years-old. I’ve done tap, jazz, ballet, I did gymnastics most of my life. When I graduated high school I auditioned to be a Miami Heat dancer for the NBA, and I’m actually still doing that. It’s been five years.
Did you think the judges made a fair decision last night coming down on you like that?
Not really. I felt Jenna already wanted to go home, they should have just sent her home. I worked hard and I wanted to be there, and she didn’t really try as hard and she was ready to walk out.
That was pretty surprising. Did you see that coming with her? Did you think she didn’t have enough passion for it?
She did have the passion, obviously. She was there, and all of us there wanted it just as bad. But I feel like if she wanted to walk out, then she didn’t want it as bad as I did.
What was the vibe like in the loft for you? Was there a lot of drama like it seemed on the show, or was it pretty calm in there?
At times there was a lot of drama. There was a lot of talking. A lot of talking, girls like to talk. I stayed out of it most of the time. It didn’t seem as important as winning to me at the time, so I just kept it to myself.
Out of all of the girls on the show, you seemed to be the one who least enjoyed your makeover. Was that something you changed right after you got off the show? Did you go back to your old look?
Actually, yeah, I definitely liked my makeover the least out of everybody. When I got home, it had actually faded to a different color that I loved, so it kind of worked out in my favor. When I got home, everybody loved my hair, and so did I. It was just at the time, it was like, orange that day, and I hated it so bad. I had to get used to it.
Out of all the challenges you had to do, which did you think was the toughest for you personally?
Definitely the first one, singing the national anthem was the toughest. First of all, I’ve never sang the national anthem before, so to sing it, and try to sing it at a baseball game, was not easy at all. And scary, very scary.
From what you know of the girls, who do you think will make it to the finals?
I can’t tell you. You just have to watch.
What are your plans now that you’re off the show? What are you going to do in the future?
I want to continue to pursue my dreams of being an entertainer, singing and dancing. I’ve actually gotten a lot better already, just by practicing and taking vocal lessons and stuff like that.
Do you want to be a singer and a dancer, or do you focus more on the dancing?
I actually want to be one of those singers that’s known for their dancing, like a Chris Brown or a Justin Timberlake. You don’t see many girls out there like that, so I’m gonna be the first one.
