There’s a big wedding on tonight’s brand-new How I Met Your Mother, airing at 8:30pm on CBS. Planned for Stella’s sister, the wedding hits a snag three days before the ceremony when her fiancé leaves her. With a huge wedding planned and paid for, Ted and Stella make the impulsive decision to tie the knot themselves, giving them just three days to get everything in order.
BuddyTV visited the set of How I Met Your Mother during this very special episode and got an inside look at what’s in store for tonight’s episode. Aside from the wedding, this episode also marks the beginning of Robin’s new job in Japan, which involves a monkey. You can watch three quick scenes from tonight’s episode of How I Met Your Mother below. We watched in during rehearsals on the set of the wedding. The first scene features a very drunk Robin making a fool of herself in front of Ted and Stella. After Robin Sparkles, Drunk Robin could be my favorite incarnation of Cobie Smulders‘ character.
The second scene is even more strange: Barney turning down a woman. Despite the notoriously easy pickings at a wedding, Barney has sworn off random hook-ups, which will find Barney more stressed out than usual. Things get especially hairy when he comes across a very flexible and eager woman.
The final scene brings drunk Robin back into the mix as Stella gets upset with Ted over inviting her ex-boyfriend to the ceremony. The ex-boyfriend will be played by Daily Show correspondent (and fellow Canadian) Jason Jones.
What does it all mean? Drunk Robin, abstinent Barney, Stella’s ex-boyfriend – it sounds like the recipe for an outrageous disaster. Will there be a wedding? There’s only one way to find out for sure, and that’s by watching tonight’s brand-new episode of How I Met Your Mother, “Shelter Island,” tonight at 8:30pm on CBS.
