Are we finally going to discover the identity of the stranger that kept us hanging on the premiere of Flash Forward? On tonight’s episode titled “White to Play,” our protagonist Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes) heads to Utah with his partner Demetri (John Cho) to find out.
The effects of the global blackout still fresh in their minds, the two FBI agents track down the suspect who may be connected to the phenomenon. Yep, it’s that guy that Janis (Christine Woods) spotted lurking around while everyone was knocked semi-conscious.
Also on “White to Play,” Dr. Olivia Benford (Sonya Walger) comes face-to-face with the man in her flash-forward. We all know how it’s the father of the kid she was treating, the one she’ll supposedly have an affair with in six months. Her intern Bryce (Zachary Knighton) already met him, and he was identified as Lloyd Simcoe (Jack Davenport).
Now on the novel that inspired Flash Forward, Simcoe is a physicist who claims to have been responsible for the blackout. Does this mean Mark and Demetri are chasing the wrong guy? Then again, sources do say Simcoe’s character on the television series is almost entirely different. He has a daughter there, and on the show he’s got a son.
Speaking of children, Mark and Olivia’s daughter Charlie (Lennon Wynn) will still struggle to cope with what she saw in her flash-forward. Again, the only thing we know about the vision is that it made her believe there’d be “no more good days” soon.
Below are a couple of sneak peeks for the episode “White to Play.” On the first one, you can see the authorities studying Suspect Zero. The second clip deals with Olivia and Mark discussing Lloyd in her flash-forward. Does this mean their marriage is beginning to fall apart? And where exactly is Charlie?
Catch the new episode of Flash Forward tonight, Thursday at 8pm on ABC.
