Following the unfortunate demise of the King of Pop, several celebrities have expressed their sentiments regarding the accident. One of those who have gotten close to Michael Jackson is veteran actor Joe Pesci, who rose to fame for his numerous films and a recurring stint on Saturday Night Live.
Along with many others, the Italian-American actor was quoted in his tribute for the recently departed legend. Joe Pesci said, “(His success) was amazing, so well deserved. He was excited about getting back to the stage.”
Joining Pesci are a hundred other stars, from Brooke Shields to John Mayer. Pop icon Madonna went on to say: “I can’t stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless.”
As for Lipstick Jungle star Brooke Shields, she was also affected: “My heart is overcome with sadness for the devastating loss of my true friend Michael. He was an extraordinary friend, artist and contributor to the world. I join his family and his fans in celebrating his incredible life and mourning his untimely passing.”
More actors have sent over their regards, using whatever means they can use. Through the social networking site Twitter, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore were heard from. “RIP. Sending love and light to family and friends but especially his kids,” tweeted Kutcher.
“I am greatly saddened by the loss of bothh Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson, esecially for their children,” Demi Moore added.
Musician John Mayer also joined Joe Pesci and the family in mourning their loss. “Dazed in the studio,” he said. “A major strand of cultural DNA has left us. RIP MJ. Think we’ll mourn his loss as well as the loss of ourselves as children listening to Thriller on the record player.”
There are millions right now who are remembering the iconic Michael Jackson. He’s affected the lives of many, whether it’s a celebrity or even some average guy on the street. While the words of these stars may be moving, they’re incomparable to the memories that the successful entertainer has left behind.
