Looks like you won’t have to wait quite so long for the premiere’s of FOX’s most anticipated fall shows: Glee and Season 6 of So You Think You Can Dance. The network announced this morning that their two big buzz shows will be premiering a week earlier than previously announced. Both shows will premiere Wednesday September 9th, with So You Think You Can Dance at it’s usual 8:00pm time slot, followed by Glee at 9:00pm.
This is great news for So You Think You Can Dance fans who are used to waiting almost a full year between seasons of their favorite show. With this new premiere date you’ll barely have to go a month without new episodes of So You Think You Can Dance. Of course, it makes us feel a little bad for whoever wins this season, their reign as America’s Favorite Dancer will be considerably shorter than every other winner.
It’s also happy news for those of us who’ve been eagerly awaiting more Glee since watching the sneak peek of the pilot after the American Idol finale back in May. Of course, since we’ve already seen the pilot, we have to wait until the following Wednesday September 16th to see a brand new episode, but we’re not complaining. Glee‘s pilot is one that we’ll be pleased, dare I say, gleeful to watch again and perhaps, sing along to.
While So You Think You Can Dance and Glee‘s premiere dates were moved forward, Fox’s obvious fall clunker, Brothers‘ premiere date was moved back. The show, which BuddyTV Senior Writer John Kubicek predicted would be the first Fall show canceled, will now debut on Friday September 25th at 8:00pm. Because, you know, a Friday night time slot doesn’t already spell the kiss of death for most new shows. Might as well stamp FAIL on top of the logo and send it over to Fail Blog. ‘Til Death‘s premiere date was also pushed back and relegated to a late Friday time slot. You’ll see the did-they-really-renew-this-show-for-a-4th-season premiere Friday October 2nd at 8:30pm.
