If last week’s season 5 preview got you all excited for the new season of Bones, this week’s clip will surely bring your anticipation to the roof. FOX has just released a new video which kicks off with Booth acting all happy to be back at work while Brennan reminds him to never look happy at a crime scene — a segment that we’ve already seen last week. But the best part? Booth telling Brennan that he loves her!
The clip, which lasts 30 seconds, gives viewers a quick glimpse of what to expect when Bones returns on September 17. Naturally, the season 5 opener sheds light on the aftermath of Booth’s coma and his relationship with Brennan now that everything is all “different.” Then there’s Cyndi Lauper, who guest stars as a psychic and it looks like she thinks that Booth and Brennan are linked in a very spiritual way.
However, the much awaited part comes at the 21-second mark in which Booth says something that he’s been wanting to say to Brennan since he got out of the comma: “I love you!” But don’t get your hopes up because Booth quickly tries to play it off by saying, “in a, that girl kind of way.” Still, it was nice hearing Booth say those words.
Meanwhile, Bones fans may witness yet another crossover. After the Family Guy-Bones crossover, FOX is reportedly toying with the idea of staging a storyline next season that would find Booth and Brennan working on a case with Tim Roth’s Lie to Me doc Lightman, according to Entertainment Weekly. However, “the insider cautions that it’s in the very early stages and may not even happen.”
