Gary Cole, who have previously appeared on Desperate Housewives, The West Wing, Arrested Development, Wanted, and Psych, will now be adding the Hollywood-themed HBO series Entourage to his long list of credentials. Cole, 52, will be playing Hollywood agent Andrew Klein, best friend of Ari (Jeremy Piven) from their old days. His character will be introduced in a three-episode arc this November and will then proceed to become a series regular on the show’s next season. Halfway through its fifth, Emmy-nominated series Entourage was recently picked up for a sixth season.
Cole was recently in the Judd Apatow-produced comedy Pineapple Express and on Desperate Housewives as Katherine Mayfair’s ex-husband Wayne. He was also on an episode of the USA Network series Psych as SWAT commander Cameron Luntz. Meanwhile, he will also appear on the NBC action-comedy Chuck, where he will play Sarah’s dad. The episode is scheduled to air November.
Entourage typically has at least one guest star every episode. Often, they just drop by for cameos, such as appearances by Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, and Kanye West, yet there are instances when they are featured in recurring roles. The notable ones include M. Night Shyamalan, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, U2, Bob Saget, Hugh Hefner, Amanda Peet, Gary Busey, Luke Wilson, Jimmy Kimmel, and, of course, Mark Wahlberg, the show’s executive producer and inspiration.
Meanwhile, on the next episode set Entourage called “Pie,” Vince has to deal with first-day jitters on the first day of filming Smokejumpers. His intimidating co-star Jason Patric doesn’t help, too. Ari meets up and has lunch with Andrew Klein (guest star Cole) whom he considers an old friend and mentor but now needs his help
