There are a lot of things to look forward to when Scrubs returns for an eighth season on its new home, ABC. Three new interns, some huge guest stars and wedding bells are just among the many treats in store for the new episodes. You can read more about it in this spoiler article. But that’s not all.
According to Zap2it.com, Sacred Heart will be getting a visit from several well-known guest stars next season.
Characters from Sesame Street, the most highly regarded educational show for children in the world, have already swung by Scrubs to shoot their scenes. These include Elmo, the furry red Muppet with googly eyes and an orange nose, Oscar, a grouch who lives in a garbage can, and Grover, known as the sometimes-confident cute blue monster.
Unlike Grover, Elmo and Oscar has branched out beyond the boundaries of 123 Sesame Street. In fact, they have separately appeared on many TV shows.
Elmo appeared in a fifth season episode of The West Wing and also received a medical checkup from Abbey Bartlet, the First Lady, and cheekily questions her about the validity of her medical license. As part of the Food Network’s second annual “Cook With Your Kids Week, Elmo was featured along with Emeril Lagasse.
Oscar, on the other hand, made a brief cameo in the 1980 Jim Henson movie The Great Muppet Caper. He also appeared as a member of the mob earlier this year in an episode of 1 vs. 100. He is scheduled to be a “regular” member of the mob until further notice.
Scrubs stars Donald Faison as Chris Turk, John C. McGinley as Perry Cox, Judy Reyes as Carla Espinosa, Ken Jenkins as Bob Kelso, Neil Flynn as The Janitor, Sarah Chalke as Elliot Reid and Zach Braff as John “J.D.” Dorian.
