It has been reported for some time now that Ghost Whisperer actress Jennifer Love Hewitt and co-star Jamie Kennedy have gone separate ways. Apparently, Perez Hilton has claimed that Kennedy “has been cheating on Hewitt with his ex-girlfriend, Shannon Funk [who also was Britney Spears’ former assistant].”
But a rep for the Ghost Whisperer actor tells Us Magazine that the split is nothing but a rumor. “This is a completely fabricated story made up by a disgruntled former employee, terminated for cause. Jamie and Jennifer are happy and still together,” the rep explained.
Not content on his rep putting the rumor to rest, Kennedy, 39, also took to his Twitter page to slam the rumor about his girlfriend, 30, writing that it was completely “untrue and slanderous.”
Hewitt, who plays lead star Melinda Gordon on Ghost Whisperer, started dating Kennedy, who appears as Eli on the CBS supernatural drama, in early 2009 shortly after Hewitt and Scottish actor Ross McCall called of their engagement of over two years in January 2009. Since then, the couple has been notorious for their public displays of affection.
While the breakup rumors aren’t true, that doesn’t mean that congratulations are in order for the happy couple, at least not yet. A couple of months ago, Hewitt and Kennedy have also been rumored to be engaged but reps for both stars say “there’s no truth to the report.”
Kennedy was quick to post on his Twitter, though, that if he decides to propose, he’d be proud to tell the world about it
“I luv my girl and wen it happens you’ll be the first to know,” he wrote at the time.
