When will Supernatural end? It’s the series that keeps on keeping on with the show currently in its 12th season. According to the show’s stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, it doesn’t sound like the show will be ending any time soon.
BuddyTV caught up with Ackles, Padalecki and Misha Collins on location in Vancouver and they discussed the previous comments regarding achieving the 300 episode milestone. Back in September, Ackles said, “In a marathon, I keep my sights on that next mile, wherever that might be. And 300’s a good number to work for.”
Last week, Ackles elaborated on his comments. “I think it was more like, that’s the next milestone. That would be, like, we kind of have our eyes set on getting there. And then we’ll see. I mean, [Jared] keeps talking about another number that I don’t want to mention.”

Supernatural recently wrapped its 250 episode milestone and Padalecki wanted to celebrate with a beer, but Ackles left set and headed home spoiling those plans. Check out the video interview below for the full story.
Neither star has a specific target in mind or are ready to stop playing the Winchester brothers. “I don’t think it’s going to be a number,” Padalecki said. “I think it’ll be– I think we’ll all know it when we know it. It’s going to be hard to swallow.”
“I think that as long as there’s still they’re still staying true to the show and the characters are still being written in a way that we still get inspired to play them, then I don’t know that there is a number necessarily,” Ackles said.

While in Vancouver, we also had the opportunity to speak with upcoming guest star Alicia Witt. She encapsulated the pure joy of working on the Supernatural set, which helps explain why the show continues to excel and why the stars want to continue it.
“This is hands down the happiest set I’ve ever been on for a show that’s been running remotely this long. It is a joy to see how much laughter there is even when we’ve been working 14 hours and it’s the middle of the night,” Witt said.
“Most other sets in a similar situation would be lagging and waiting to get home. People after 12 years tend to get sick of each other . It sucks, but it’s true. And on this set, everyone is like a giant family from the cast through everyone on the crew. They are genuinely happy to see each other every day.”

Collins has a number in mind, “I think the number should be 666.” Whenever the time comes for the show to end, Ackles believes “they’ll be plenty of warning.”
