Speculation regarding the troubled marriage of Jon and Kate Gosselin, stars of TLC’s Jon and Kate Plus 8, has certainly increased. It appears as though the couple has decided to settle things with the press once and for all by revealing their side of the story.
According to the Associated Press, a recent promotional video for the docu-series indicates that Jon and Kate will be explaining what happened between them. It’s been announced that they will be releasing their statement on the Monday episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8.
With thei r ratings climbing higher as they gain more media attention, TLC let out a teaser focusing on the “changes” that the couple has undergone in the recent year. CNN reported a one-hour special will be aired, which will be followed by the show’s regularly scheduled episode.
In the video promo, Kate says: “Recently, we’ve made some life-changing decisions, decisions that will affect every member of our family, ones that we hope will bring each of us some peace.”

With five seasons already on the show, recent events have truly made it a crossroads for the Jon and Kate Plus 8 stars. The family was confronted by several accusations, from both parents having extramarital affairs to the show breaking child labor laws. The recent installment was released despite the story that Jon was cheating on Kate with a 23-year-old teacher. The Gosselin matriarch then dismissed the claims, saying she didn’t believe a thing.
It’s getting more and more difficult for these two and their children to become public figures, but it’s something they agreed to do in the first place. While many can only guess what “announcement” they’re going to make on Monday, one thing we can hope for is the wellbeing of the kids.
