Check out the rest of our coverage from San Diego Comic-Con.
As anyone who has listened to their weekly podcast can attest to, Lost executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are extremely entertaining guys. Though the duo rarely give out any major secrets or hints about their series, they evade questions with such humor that it’s impossible not to enjoy their discussions. Cuse and Lindelof were supposed to be the only folks attending today’s Lost panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, but much like last year when Harold Perrineau dropped in, a special guest showed up unexpectedly. This time it was Matthew Fox, who joined the team on stage to take questions from the audience.
In addition to the Q&A session, the producers also unveiled a new video featuring DHARMA Initiative member Dr. Marvin Candle. You can catch your first glimpse at the intriguing clip below.
Though Cuse and Lindelof were as elusive as always during the Q&A session, they did offer up a few hints about Lost‘s future. The producers guaranteed that viewers will finally see Danielle Rousseau’s story in season 5, despite the fact that the character recently died. They also delivered some minor scoop about next season, revealing that Kate will see Sawyer again, Vincent will be back, and that we’ll find out if Richard Alpert has four or five toes. However, the most exciting thing about the new season is that the writers are once again shaking up their storytelling techniques. They plan to tell stories on the island, off the island, in the past and in the future. When the season premiere begins viewers will have no clue when or where they are, which is just how the Lost masterminds like it.
Toward the end of the Q&A session, the exciting new video featuring Dr. Marvin Candle was unveiled. Earlier in the panel, a DHARMA recruiter named Hans Van Eeghen took the stage and revealed that he had found five people at Comic-Con that were worthy of joining the team. He took the group off stage, but one of them returned later determined to show everyone the truth about DHARMA. That’s when this video hit the screens:

Not only does the video reveal Candle’s real name, but his discussion of time travel is extremely interesting. And is that Faraday’s voice behind the camera?
Unfortunately, this short video will have to tide fans over until Lost returns to ABC in 2009. Lindelof and Cuse may not have revealed much at Comic-Con, but they certainly know how to leave fans buzzing.
