After three years of being together, Evangeline Lilly and Dominic Monaghan, who both catapulted to fame on ABC’s Lost, have reportedly called it quits. According to the New York Post, the 30-year-old English actor has already moved on and has found love with another woman.
Monaghan, who played Merry in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and whose character Charlie Pace was killed off on Lost, was spotted crying, holding and kissing an unnamed woman at El Coyote restaurant in Los Angeles, California last Saturday.
“They were right in the middle of the room, they weren’t interested in privacy. They looked very intimate. They were nursing margaritas, leaning in, chain-smoking, [and] having intense conversation,” entertainment blogger Nelson Aspen reported of Monaghan and his companion, who eventually drove off in a Toyota Prius together.
Despite the numerous reports surrounding their alleged split, Lilly and Monaghan have not made any comment on the controversy.
Lilly and Monaghan began dating after meeting on the set of Lost, an adventure thriller series that follows the lives of plane crash survivors on a mysterious tropical island. During the course of the relationship, the couple tried to keep their romance as private as possible.
Though they refused to publicly speak about their affair, both made hints about their interest in each other. While Lilly said that she is fascinated with men who are in touch with their feminine side, Monaghan revealed that he is in fact “metrosexual.”
Last year, the couple decided to publicly tie the knot sometime in the summer of 2007, with a ceremony that will take place in Hawaii. Monaghan made it known several times that he is desperate to start a family while Lilly remained pretty evasive about the relationship in general.
At present, Monaghan is busy filming his upcoming movie, I Sell the Dead.
