The legendary Lynda Carter, actress known to personify Wonder Woman, will guest star on Smallville this season. The episode is called “Progeny” which will be aired on April 12, 2007.
Carter, a 56-year old American Actress known for her Amazonian title, is a native of Arizona. She studied at Globe High School and Arcadia School. An avid reader of the Wonder Woman comics, she initially aspired to pursue a career in music, a decision that led her to tour with several rock groups. Named Miss World USA in 1972, she gained national fame which was eventually followed by a number of TV guest appearances on such shows like Starsky and Hutch, Cos, Nakia and movies like Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw. But her biggest break ever was her role as Diana Prince or Wonder Woman on the television series of the same name. Recently, this notable celebrity appeared in movies like Sky High and The Dukes of Hazzard. And although the pinnacle of her stardom prevailed during the 70’s, she is still deemed as a heroic icon and maintains her image as a “stars and stripes heroine” even after her television series, which lasted three years.
Even though Carter is notable for playing heroic roles, she will not be playing a superhero on Smallville. In fact, she is going to portray the long-vanished mother of fearless Daily Planet reporter Chloe Sullivan (portrayed by Allison Mack) named Mama Moira Sullivan. Her inclusion in the said episode will finally bring light to Moira’s lengthy disappearance. Moreover, the episode is also said to contain much confrontation and flashbacks. And although there has been much anticipation on the show to guest star notable actors known for playing superhero roles in the past, her inclusion on the television series is just good for one episode.
The much-awaited episode is the eighteenth episode of season six. Smallville airs Thursdays at 8 PM on CW Network.
