Previously on Make Me A Supermodel, Jordan won the candy photo shoot, and Tabitha Coffey made over all the modelettes. Chris was sent home, and now there are only 14 wannabes left.
Early in the morning, the modelettes get a message that a bus will be picking them up in 45 minutes to take them to their photo shoot. Everyone is sending negative vibes directed toward CJ for how she behaved last week, resulting in Chris getting the boot.
A school bus picks them up in front of their loft. Gabriel is less than enthused at the thought of possibly sharing the camera’s eye with a bunch of children because he hates kids. Just kidding, he only hates them a little bit. In reality, the school bus takes them to a football field where Tyson Beckford presides with whistle in mouth over a bunch of football players pushing those tackling dummy thingies across the field.
The theme of the photo shoot is about sports, and sports photographer Justin Steele introduces them to a big harness that will allow the modelettes to fly through the air for a very dynamic photo shoot. Sandhurst kind of offensively confessionals to the camera that he’s got a whole bunch of kung fu moves ready for the camera.
Salome, Shawn and Mountaha are way out of their element because they don’t have much experience with sports. During their shoot, Salome and Shawn have a hard time keeping their faces modelicious, and they even collide once or twice.
Kerryn, Amanda and Laury, wielding field hockey sticks, really rock their photos, especially Amanda, despite her silly purple plastic visor. Laury is so confident that she is expecting to win the go-see the next day.
Nicole Trunfio advises Karen that she’s going to have to step up to separate herself from the middle of the pack, but I’d like to know when Nicole is going to start developing a personality. She is a beautiful model, but is as limp as a dead fish on camera. Karen , Sandhurst and Jordan pose together, and Sandhurst particularly does well, striking very balletic poses in mid-air.
Tyson Beckford coaches Gabriel briefly on how to give shape to his body for every pose he hits. CJ is annoyed by everyone talking shit about her behind her back, and to make matters worse, she doesn’t perform very well in the photo shoot. Nicole reminds her that she needs energy and power, but the same could be said about Nicole’s voice.
Nicole sits down with some of the modelettes and asks for the current gossip circulating around the group. Everyone vents about CJ’s disrespectful and negative attitude.
Back at the loft, CJ calls her dad for some support about her social malfunctioning. We don’t get to hear a lot of their conversation, but he seems like a supporting dad. Gabriel has a big hard-on for Amanda. She’s not sure how to respond to that, but she’s definitely flattered when he tells her that she’s hot.
The doorbell rings, and Nicole arrives with the books featuring their new photos. Salome isn’t thrilled with her photo, and Gabriel is disappointed in how his turned out. The phone rings, and it’s Cory Bautista to announce the winner of the shoot. He asks to speak to Amanda, who wins a go-see at Bloomingdale’s for her fierce photo. Bloomingdale’s is looking for an All-American look, and Amanda chooses Kerryn to accompany her. Laury speaks up and says that Amanda didn’t deserve to win, but Nicole says that Laury didn’t make her face model-like. Laury really did have a really ugly, scary-rugby-player look on her face.
Amanda and Kerryn arrive at the site to meet the photo director of Bloomingdale’s. They try on several outfits, walk a bit, and have Polaroids taken. The directors see a lot of potential in Amanda, but she still needs some work before they can book her. But the directors think that Kerryn doesn’t portray enough confidence to really own the clothes she’s wearing. Neither of them gets the job.
Back at the loft, all the modelettes put on clown wigs and have an impromptu photo shoot. Branden enjoys seeing CJ’s fun side, realizing that she might be more than a bitch. Gabriel strips down to his man-panties, flaunting his hot bod.
It’s time for the runway show. The styling for the show will be intimate-wear juxtaposed with bold architectural structure. The modelettes will also be required to strike a sports pose at the end of the catwalk. The judges are looking for Olympian and statuesque poses.
The looks are crazy weird, and during the runway show, I am physically cringing in embarrassment at some of the “sports” poses that the models make.
The judges give their critiques. All but seven models are excused from the catwalk. Salome, Jonathan, Amanda, Sandhurst, Karen, Kerryn and Gabriel.
Salome was very weak this week in both her photo and her walk. Jonathan gets praise for working his codpiece, instead of letting the codpiece work him. Amanda’s runway wasn’t bad, but her pose wasn’t convincing. Sandhurst was very elegant on the runway, but gets some negative feedback that his photograph wasn’t sporty enough. Karen gets a lot of negative feedback for her deer in the headlights pose, but Kerryn had a great walk and really showed her raised level of confidence. Gabriel gets a bad rap about his photo, but he tries to divert attention to how poorly he thought CJ was doing. And this will help him how?
After much deliberation, the judges give their verdict to Tyson and Nicole. Amanda and Sandhurst are safe. Between Jonathan and Kerryn, Kerryn wins.
In the bottom three are Salome, Gabriel and Karen. Karen cannot be made into a supermodel, and is eliminated.
