A few days before the heavily anticipated 2009 MTV Movie Awards, and already, the stars set to grace the occasion either as presenter or nominee are piling. Leading the pack and the most recent addition to the pack include Star Trek’s Chris Pine and Borat and Bruno‘s Sasha Baron Cohen, who’ll appear in character as the adorably over the top homosexual reporter.
The list of the new presenters, meanwhile, include 24‘s Kiefer Sutherland, country singer LeAnn Rimes, The Office‘s Ed Helms, the Scary Movie franchise’s Anna Farris, Justin Bartha, and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. Much earlier, the following have confirmed their appearances on this year’s MTV Movie Awards: Shia LaBeouf, Zac Efron, Denzel Washington, Cameron Diaz, Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell, Sandra Bullock, Vanessa Hudgens, Leighton Meester, Jonah H ill, Lil Wayne, Sienna Miller, Channing Tatum, Bradley Cooper, Abigail Breslin and Danny McBride.
Another noteworthy event on the 2009 MTV Movie Awards is the first ever trailer of New Moon, the sequel to Twilight, set to be introduced by stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner. Not to be outdone, the gang from Hogwarts, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, will also present a never-before-seen clip from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince; as well as an exclusive Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen clip courtesy of Megan Fox and director Michael Bay.
Rapper Eminem will take to the stage to perform music from his new album Relapse, while Kings of Leon will perform live on MTV for the first time ever, treating viewers to their hit song “Use Somebody.”
The proceedings, set to start at 9pm, will be hosted by Saturday Night Live funny man Andy Samberg.
