Yesterday we learned that NBC ordered four new shows and renewed Chuck. Today the network has revealed that it’s picking up three more new shows and renewing two bubble shows.
NBC Picks Up 4 New Shows >>
Parenthood was renewed for a third season, ending months of speculation about its future. Meanwhile, Harry’s Law was picked up for a second season thanks to stellar ratings and despite universal pans by the critics. In addition, NBC has ordered new shows The Playboy Club, Awake and Grimm.
The Playboy Club is a period drama set in the 1960s about a pair of Playboy bunnies in Chicago starring Amber Heard and Eddie Cibrian.
Awake is a complex procedural from the creator of Lone Star about a cop whose family is destroyed after a car accident. It stars Jason Isaacs, Emmy winner Cherry Jones and Wilmer Valderrama (whose That ’70s Show co-star Ashton Kutcher just replaced Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men).
Grimm is a cop drama set in a world where fairy tales are real.
These three pick-ups kill the chances of the network’s other big potential new dramas like the high-profile Wonder Woman series and 17th Precinct from Battlestar Galactica‘s Ronald D. Moore starring BSG‘s Jamie Bamber, James Callis and Tricia Helfer.
