It wouldn’t be a true Vampire Diaries finale without Elena Gilbert, and fans don’t need to worry about that any longer. Former star Nina Dobrev posted something on Instagram that confirms she will return to the CW show for its final season.
The post is the cover of the script for the series finale of The Vampire Diaries with her name emblazoned on it. She added the hashtag “BackonSet” too in case there’s any doubt. And the tweet also reveals the title of the Vampire Diaries series finale: “I Was Feeling Epic.” That’s quite a bold statement.

For most fans, there was never any doubt that Nina Dobrev would return. Knowing that this is the final season of The Vampire Diaries, it would be inconceivable to end the story without Elena coming back.
The Vampire Diaries airs Fridays at 8/7c on the CW, and the series finale airs March 10.
