Following her exposure on The O.C., Mischa Barton‘s career has been thriving with acting projects. She hasn’t been much visible on television but that’s just because she’s busy filming a string of movies, which includes Finding t.A.T.u., Malice in Sunderland and her latest movie Assassination of a High School President.
Assassination of a High School President features the former O.C. actress as a popular high school girl who teams up with a sophomore newspaper reporter to investigate a case of stolen SAT exams. After targeting a suspect, larger conspiracies are unearthed. Also starring in the film are Bruce Willis and his daughter Rumer Willis.
At present, the former O.C. star is New Jersey to film the said comedy movie, which is expected to hit the theaters on April 25, 2008. However, New Jersey isn’t just another shooting location for the 21-year-old actress. It actually signifies her new home.
According to New York magazine, Barton has already taken up residence in the Mile Square City. After a series of partying and staying at hotels, she has finally decided to have a home away from home.
“I think I need to be back here. I’m in my twenties now, and it would be nice to finally have my own place in the city. I like the East Village, Greenwich Village, and the meatpacking. I’m sort of a downtown girl,” Barton, who previously owned an apartment in Tribeca, revealed.
Meanwhile, Barton also has several movies that are pending for release this year, besides her currently filming projects. These include Virgin Territory, Don’t Fade Away, and St. Trinian’s.
