Earlier this month, Apollo Nida, husband of The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Phaedra Parks, was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to fraud. Now an inside source indicates that Phaedra is taking a break from filming the show, although it’s been rumored that all of last season’s ‘wives are returning.

A source told E! News that Phaedra is taking a few weeks off from filming season 7 to focus more on her family.
“Phaedra and Apollo’s marriage is on very shaky ground right now,” an insider told E! “Phaedra is trying to keep everything contained and protect her kids, which is why she’s taking time off from the show. She does not want their ordeal shown on TV.”
The fact that their marriage is in trouble is no mystery. The two had a tumultuous relationship this past season, and Apollo’s already gone on the record saying he doesn’t expect his marriage to last much longer.
“I think Phaedra, in a perfect world, should be supportive as a wife should be,” Apollo told an Atlanta radio show last week. “But if she chooses to derail from the plan, then that’s what she chooses to do. Whatever’s been thrown at me, I deal with it. I would like to say I would want her to stay around and do what a wife should do. But tomorrow’s not promised.”
According to the insider, Apollo has done just the opposite. He hasn’t been spending any real quality time with his family before he goes away.
“He has not been showing her the same respect,” the source said. “He’s been filming a lot. He’s been out and about and trying to be seen as much as possible before he goes to jail. Right now, he’s not exactly sure when that will be so he’s living it up while he can.”
Phaedra has yet to make any public statements regarding the situation, but her best friend and co-star Kandi Burruss assures her fans that she’s doing well.
“Phaedra’s doing great,” Kandi told Hollywood Life. “She’s basically working. That’s how I deal with things too; when I have a lot going on, I just put more into work. I know that she’s promoting her book [Secrets of the Southern Belle] and stuff like that and she’s not really trying to focus as much on what’s happening.”
