Pretty Little Liars has wrapped the first half of its sixth season with storylines seeming to be coming to a close, but new ones also seeming to arise. With that in mind, the series was already picked up for a seventh season in its two-season renewal last year and there is now talks of an eight season — and more.

When asked about what comes next for the show at the Television Critics Association press tour, King said, “I think we’ll let the fans tell us what they want. We’re open to that,” adding that both are “very possible…I’m all for it. Yes, we’re in.”
“We just try to keep the train moving as fast as possible on the tracks,” she says. “We haven’t slowed down, and we started in the beginning telling the story at a super fast speed and we try to keep up that speed, keep the twists and turns and the ‘OMG’ moments coming.”
Rumors of a possible movie have been around for a little while. Even Lucy Hale had mentioned hearing something similar about it in an interview with E! News. “Yeah, there’s like rumors of maybe a movie,” she said. “There might be a movie, but seven seasons will definitely end the show.”
Things may have changed since then and the 5-year time jump definitely adds a new dynamic to the show. However, ABC Family has not made any official mention of Pretty Little Liars continuing past seven seasons.
Season 6 of Pretty Little Liars continues in January 2016 on ABC Family.
