Pretty Little Liars season 6B has started off with a big bang. Over five and a half seasons, the true villain behind PLL has been one person — “A”. In the first half of season 6, we found out who “A” was. With that having been revealed, there’s no mystery left in the show, right? Wrong. “A” was put safely behind bars, but in the midseason premiere, “Of Late I Think of Rosewood,” there’s a new big bad villain in Rosewood. Let’s discuss who this could be.

Pretty Little Liars Winter Premiere Recap: The Show Jumps Five Years Forward and Adds Another Dead Body>>>

Let’s get down to the nitty gritty. “A” was revealed in the midseason finale, “Game Over, Charles,” to be none other than CeCe Drake aka Charlotte DiLaurentis aka Alison’s long lost transgender sister. After hearing the sad story of her upbringing, the girls empathized with her actions over the years. She was put back in Radley and now, 5 years later, she’s developed a relationship with her sister Alison. CeCe appears to be rehabilitated, so all of the girls returned to Rosewood to testify on her behalf. Except for one. When put on the stand, Aria couldn’t lie about her true feelings. She admitted she’s still afraid of Charlotte and doesn’t believe she should be released. Nonetheless, Charlotte was freed, but met her demise later that very same night. With all of the the old gang back in town, there are a number of suspects for who could have killed Charlotte. Let’s take a look at the most likely ones.

Aria Montgomery

Pretty Little Liars definitely wants us to suspect Aria and there’s plenty of reason to do so. Aria was the most vocal about how she didn’t feel Charlotte should be freed and ended up saying so during the hearing. She’s still going through a lot and clearly feels that she’s in danger. The best way to protect yourself is to eliminate the threat, right Aria?

Ashley Marin

We didn’t see too much of Hanna’s mom in the premiere, but what we did see could point the finger at her. She was adamant that Hanna shouldn’t be doing Alison any favors by protecting her sister. She doesn’t owe the DiLaurentis’ anything. Hanna shut her up quickly and told her she knew exactly what she was going to say. That was the end of that, but we shouldn’t forget that Ashley would do anything to protect her daughter if she felt she was in danger.

Ezra Fitz

Ezra is clearly an emotional wreck. And who can blame him? The guy has gone through a lot and definitely felt helpless as he watched the woman he love continuously get tormented for years and wasn’t able to do much about it. When that situation seems to finally be put to bed, he goes to South America and has to watch as a friend of his (and possible lover?) gets carried away by extremists. Feeling like he’s never able to protect the people in his life, is it possible that when Charlotte was released, knowing Aria feels unsafe, he did the only thing he felt would keep her safe? In his emotionally wrecked state, it’s possible.

7 Questions We Have for Pretty Little Liars Season 6B>>>

Sara Harvey

Sara is a little too obvious of a suspect, but that’s exactly why we need to talk about her. She’s definitely been through a lot as a result of Charlotte. She didn’t show up for the hearing, but came to the funeral. Her appearance at the funeral was clearly meant to be ominous. It had some dark music, her outfit, walk and even her gaze was really cryptic. She came in and left without a word. If she’s not the culprit, she at the very least knows something more than the girls do.

Mona Vanderwaal

Mona’s always a suspect for everything and always will be. She’s played on everyone’s team, but at the end of the day, she really just looks out for herself. At the hearing, Hanna was convinced Mona would be “the last nail in the coffin” and convince the judge that Charlotte was still a threat. Instead, Mona did the cliche speech thing of throwing out what she had written down to say and speaking from the heart. She told the judge that she too had spent time in Radley and doesn’t feel like Charlotte deserves to be in there. She should go home. With that, Mona leaves. It seems like a nice and empathetic thing she’s doing, but this is Mona Vanderwaal we’re talking about. The girl ran over Hanna with her car. We can’t rule out the possibility that Mona intentionally got Charlotte out so that she could finally erase her from everyone’s lives.
