Apollo Nida, husband of The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks, is already facing legal battles after he was charged with fraud in January. Now he’s allegedly scamming a charity to pay him cash upfront for an appearance at an event.
According to RadarOnline, Apollo demanded a $2,000 appearance fee for being a “celebrity guest” at a charity event to raise money for battered women and children.
“At first I thought he would do it for free,” Chase DeCarlo, chairman of the charity Dio Bambini said. “His people were saying he wouldn’t mind appearing.”

DeCarlo said that Apollo sent the charity a contract for $2,000, which would have had to been paid upfront. Kandi Burruss, one of the actual stars of RHOA, has already agreed to appear for free. And taking into account Apollo’s criminal background, along with his asking price, DeCarlo said they had to re-consider.
“I’m really, really leery that his court date is before the event,” DeCarlo said. “It makes sense why he’s pressuring me and wanting me to book him. I spoke to different celebrities, and he’s the only one who really wants to be paid before the event even happens.”
Apollo posted a video to YouTube claiming that the charity’s allegations were “totally false.” That the money he charged the charity was for necessities like lodging and flight.
“If you wanna attack me, I decided nowadays that I’m going to attack back,” Apollo said. “I have a lot of people who are supportive, and you have a lot of haters. At the end of the day, for you to try to mess up a brand like, Nida Fitness, Apollo Nida is a brand. And so for you to say something so derogatory, the blog site didn’t contact the individual. The individual goes out to contact the blog site and say, ‘hey, this is what I think. Here goes Apollo’s contract.’ My stuff is official.”

Phaedra has remained fairly tight-lipped on any topic regarding her husband, and she remains to do so even among rumors that she and Apollo are separating.
“A lot of times we’re divulging too much information about everything. You go somewhere and people are telling you about their very intimate surgical procedures,” she told Good Day Atlanta. “At the end of the day, I’m a mom first. I love my two sons; they’re just my angels.”
Apollo is due in court for his fraud case on April 25.
