After entering into rehab in early December, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards has checked out, US Weekly is reporting.
After a false report claimed that Kim left rehab in the week before the New Year, her rep confirmed that Richards stayed another two weeks before finishing her treatment.
Kim checked in for undisclosed reasons in early December, but her issues with substance abuse have been documented on the show.
At the end of season one, her sister Kyle accused Kim of being an alcoholic. Her behavior turned more and more erratic as season two went on, including an intoxicated plane ride with co-stars Adrienne Maloof and Dr. Paul Nassif, who previously came to Kim’s defense, saying it was possible that a combination of anti-anxiety medications were causing irrational behavior.
She was also accused of using crystal meth and being “wasted out of her f***ing mind” by co-star Brandi Glanville when she kept disappearing to the bathroom at the infamous Game Night party. More recently, her suspected substance abuse caused her to miss a flight to Hawaii.
While the rest of her castmates just finished filming the season two reunion special, Kim was unable to participate because she was still in treatment. Kyle Richards also recently confirmed that Kim and her boyfriend Ken Blumenfeld had split.
“We’re all really proud of her,” Kyle told the Huffington Post of her sister’s motivation to get treatment.
“Having our relationship being played out on TV is difficult; people dissecting it and thinking they know us is very difficult at times. We’ve gone through a lot together. … I’m happy to say we’re in a much better place right now.”
