Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Adrienne Maloof and her plastic surgeon husband Dr. Paul Nassif have never exactly had the most affectionate relationship, as shown over the last two seasons, but now it seems that the lack of passion has become a factor in their marriage. According to TMZ, Paul plans to file for legal separation early this week.
The two have been married since 2002 and have three sons together, who they decided to leave out of their regular filming schedule and thus do not appear on the show. Although Paul is filing for legal separation, TMZ says that Adrienne is fully aware of the situation and they came to the decision together.
“I’m so sorry that this is happening but my children are my life and sometimes we need to do what’s best for them,” Adrienne said to RadarOnline. “It’s an unfortunate situation but I have to have my kids’ best interest at heart.”
According to RadarOnline, a source close to the couple says that the grueling film schedule of season 3 really took its toll on their marriage.
“There is no other person,” the source said. “It’s for a variety of reasons that they are contemplating separation. Adrienne was dragged through the dirt during filming of the upcoming season, and it really wore on her. Paul and Adrienne have always fought, it’s how they were as a couple. However, at this point they realize that they just want very different things, and neither one of them is happy in the marriage.”
While the couple is separating, the source says that neither one of them is ready to make it an official and file for divorce at this time.
“There is a lot of love between Paul and Adrienne,” another source said. “If they didn’t love each other as much as they do, either one would just walk away without looking back. They aren’t at that stage yet.”
