You may think you witnessed the Countess LuAnn de Lesseps stepping out on her French honey, Jacques, and then trying to cover her tracks on last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, but you, most assuredly, thought wrong.
“What may have looked like infidelity on last night’s episode was in reality, a ride home with a friend and a tour of the house after an evening of fun on vacation eight months ago,” LuAnn wrote in her Bravo blog about bringing Captain Jack Sparrow look-alike, Tomas back to the housewives’ getaway chateau.
“Do you think I would bring a man back to a houseful of housewives (and cameras) if I were planning on having an affair?” LuAnn blogged. “My big mistake was trying to avoid the speculation and assumptions by telling a white lie. The problem with telling a white lie is that once you say it, you have to stick to your story, that’s why I made the call when I heard Tomas was coming for dinner that night. Never tell a fib because it can snowball out of control.”
Her cast mates, especially Heather Thomson who witnessed LuAnn’s arrival back at the villa with Tomas, are wary of her story.
“I adore Jacques and LuAnn both and I love them together. I don’t believe anything but partying happened that night because I know how Lu feels about Jacques, but she is making it worse by weaving up this complicated, cockamamie story,” Heather wrote in her Bravo blog. “She is certainly coming off very suspicious to the other ladies and no one believes her.”
The always opinionated Ramona Singer also thought that there was more going on between LuAnn and Tomas than just a friend driving another friend home.
“How many times did LuAnn say Tomas looks like Johnny Depp? Was it me or was she obsessing a bit over the way he looked?” Ramona speculated in her Bravo blog. “I really don’t know why LuAnn would lie about having Tomas over to the home. And to say Italian people, not French?!”
Despite what anyone else inferred from LuAnn’s actions both in bringing home a man and doing some sneaky sneaking to cover it up, she insists that it has had zero effect on her current relationship with Jacques.
“LESSON LEARNED!” she blogged. “As I write this, Jacques and I are on vacation and we couldn’t be more united and happy!”
