Brooks Ayers has reportedly filmed a tell-all interview with Bravo’s Andy Cohen to answer questions about his cancer diagnosis, which has been major storyline this season on The Real Housewives of Orange County. Radar Online reports that Ayers, who has been accused of faking his cancer by most the ladies on the Bravo series, did not inform his former girlfriend Vicki Gunvalson of his decision to film the tell-all, which is expected to air during RHOC‘s reunion episodes.
Brooks Ayers Lashes Back at Real Housewives of Orange County Cast>>>
Gunvalson and Ayers decided to call it quits in August after four years together, marking the second time the couple broke up. The couple first parted ways in 2013 but reconciled in 2014 following the diagnosis of Ayers’ cancer. On the Bravo series, the pair often had to defend their relationship as it caused tension among friends and family, including Gunvalson’s daughter, Briana Culberson, who has always been vocal about her disapproval of Ayers.
“Vicki thinks it’s absolutely ridiculous that her kids doubt that Brooks has cancer,” the insider said. “But there has never been any proof provided that Brooks does have it. When her kids asked him to provide proof, Brooks just scoffed at their demand and has refused to take it.”
Despite the breakup, Gunvalson remains defensive about Ayers and his diagnosis. However, learning about Ayers’ tell-all came as a surprise to the 53-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County star.
RHOC Star Meghan King Edmonds: ‘I Don’t Think Brooks Has Cancer’>>>
“Vicki was completely blindsided by Brooks’ decision to do the interview with Andy,” the source told Radar. “Complicating matters, Brooks isn’t telling Vicki anything about the interview. She has no idea what was said, or if he threw her under the bus!”
The insider further claimed that Gunvalson “doesn’t want to look like a fool for dating Brooks. The silver lining of the situation is Vicki truly seeing Brooks as being an opportunist, and hopefully won’t get back together with him.”
Ayers reportedly went to New York City in September and “Bravo paid for the plane ticket and five star hotel.”
“Andy interviewed Brooks about his cancer diagnosis and all of the questions surrounding it,” the source told Radar. “Brooks didn’t want to be at the reunion because he just didn’t want to deal with the other ladies on the show, especially Meghan Edmonds.”
