Jacqueline Laurita, who has been part of the main cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey since season 1, has officially confirmed that she will not be returning for season 6. She will take more time to focus on raising her kids, including her 4-year-old son, Nicholas, who has autism.
“Right now, I’m really just enjoying time with my family and I’m writing a few books,” Jacqueline said in an interview with Life & Style. “My husband and I are writing a book together about our journey with autism.”

Besides capitalizing on her son’s condition, Jacqueline also wants to write about other things she’s passionate about.
“My other passion is the beauty industry, so I’m also writing a book about busy moms and beauty things,” she said. “I’m also writing children’s books. I enjoy writing — that’s what I love.”
But she isn’t ruling out returning to the show some day, or in a less involved capacity.
“I needed a little bit of a break, but we’ll see what happens from there,” she said. “It’s just been really great with my family. I feel like I’m in a very good place.”
Speaking of her family, her sister-in-law Caroline Manzo also quit the show, but will be returning to Bravo with her own spin-off, Manzo’d with Children. And Caroline’s estranged sister, Jacqueline’s other sister-in-law, Dina Manzo has signed on for season 6 after leaving the show in the middle of season 2. It was rumored that she would only join the cast again if Jacqueline left.
“I understand why Dina wouldn’t want me on the show,” Jacqueline said. “She doesn’t want to address family issues on camera.”
According to casting rumors, three new ladies have already been hired to film with Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga for season 6 (Kathy Wakile is rumored to only be filming part-time): twin sisters Nicole and Teresa Napolitano and their friend Amber Marchese.
