On episode 10 of The Real Housewives of New York City season 6, “Bon Voyage Ramona,” Ramona Singer offered a hollow apology to Kristen Taekman after throwing wine, and then the wine glass, at her face during their trip to the Berkshires. But it seems that with a little time, Ramona has come to really regret her behavior.

“What happened was very unladylike,” Ramona said on Watch What Happens Live.“I shouldn’t have done it. It doesn’t matter what someone does to you, you shouldn’t throw anything and anybody, it could just be a cotton ball. I was embarrassed by it, I apologized to her later when she was more receptive to it. I’m owning it, I’m not perfect, and I’m not going to make excuses for it.”
She explains her frame of mind at the moment of the incident more thoroughly in her Bravo blog. Ramona said that as soon as Heather invited her to the Berkshires, she did not want to go because she knew it would bring up memories of her troubled childhood. Thinking about her past put her in a dark place the trip.
“Once I got on the lake and in the canoe, I became very relaxed,” Ramona wrote in her blog. “I was really enjoying the scenery, the calmness, and the environment– much to my surprise. I was actually feeling happy that I came. When Kristen splashed me, it did not feel playful. I reacted by throwing the plastic glass. Never in a million years did I expect it to hit her body — let alone her face.”
Despite the fact that she claims she was re-living moments of violence from her childhood, she said there was no excuse for her actions.
“But the bottom line is, I should have never thrown it. It was totally unladylike and improper. After this incident happened I was shocked and in disbelief at my own behavior. The last time I threw something was at my father as a teenager.”

She goes on to explain why she offered up a non-apology to Kristen instead of just admitting what she’d done wrong then and there.
“When we got back to Heather’s house I could feel Kristen was not going to accept my apology,” Ramona said. “So, as a defense mechanism I gave her a back-handed apology. Or maybe I was just so embarrassed about what happened that I did not know how to even begin to address it.”
Kristen had some words of her own considering Ramona’s non-apology and the excuses she gave her for why she acted the way she did.
“I want you all to know, including Ramona, that I am terribly sorry for what has happened in her past and in her childhood and any issues she has with her mom and dad,” Kristen wrote in her Bravo blog. “I also want you all to know that it is not OK to use that as an excuse for bad or violent behavior. She clearly needs therapy. She has got some major issues that need to be worked out.”
