Last week, Ramona Singer of The Real Housewives of New York City announced that she was divorcing her husband Mario after more than 20 years of marriage. While allegations that Mario cheated on her started in January, Ramona has remained as private as possible while dealing with her marriage issues until now. In her final Bravo blog of the season, Ramona finally opens up about what happened.
“Little did I know until we finished filming [season 6] several weeks later in October that my husband was having an affair,” Ramona wrote on her blog. “Little did I know I was the last one to find out. I was shocked beyond words.”

Ramona also has an explanation for why she acted so closed-off at the reunion when Andy Cohen asked her about her marriage.
“When I filmed the reunion, Mario and I had reconciled only the month before. I so wanted to try to get our relationship back on track. Mario was extremely adamant about me not speaking about our relationship and his infidelity. This is so not who I am — I always speak freely on all subjects. I was allowing my husband to control my behavior.”
Ramona regrets her behavior at the reunion. She even offers up somewhat of an apology to LuAnn de Lesseps for being judgmental of her marriage issues in seasons past.
“Yes it was not filmed on the show, but it is still, as Andy said, part of my current reality,” she wrote of her husband’s affair. “I must say I was not as respectful as I should [have] been to Andy. I also now understand what LuAnn went through and should have been more kind to her no matter how she pushed my buttons.”
She then went on to answer one of the questions that she had dodged on the night of the reunion when Andy asked if her friends were supportive during her time of trouble.
“I am opening up now about why I was not candid as I should have been. Yes, Andy, all the women on the show, including LuAnn, were supportive of my situation with Mario. My friends were also. Without them I would never have been able to handle what I was going through. I thank all my fellow Housewives for their support and continued support.”
“I feel like I was emotionally bruised for the past five months by Mario. I felt at times as if I was walking on eggshells. We were working with a marriage counselor. I was in a fragile state,” she continued. “Having your husband betray you is the worst feeling in the world, and I wish it on no one.”
