Time for another romance roundup, for us who believe in true love, both on and off the screen… and judging from the items we have tonight, they’re mostly good news. But let’s begin with the bad (err, sad) news, shall we?
Zooey Deschanel files for divorce: the New Girl star has officially decided to end her marriage with Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard, according to TMZ. The couple married in 2009 but have been separated for the last couple of months. October 31, to be exact, according to divorce papers filed in a Los Angeles court. The reason: the usual “irreconcilable differences”.
On to the good news, then! Mario Lopez is now engaged to girlfriend Courtney Mazza, and in a twist you’ve probably seen from half a mile away, the proposal is caught on tape! Extra has the clips of Lopez popping the question while on holiday with friends in Mexico.
More engagement news: Private Practice‘s Audra McDonald is engaged to Broadway star Will Swenson, Us Weekly reports. The couple met while working on Broadway’s 110 in the Shade; they began dating in 2010. This is the second marriage for both: McDonald split up with bassist Peter Donovan in 2009, while Swenson was once married to Amy Westerby.
Now, for good news of the unconfirmed kind: Us Weekly reports that Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are now engaged, quoting sources close to the couple. The two have been together for over four years now, save for a split last year.
Us Weekly is also reporting that Minka Kelly has gotten back together with Derek Jeter: they were spotted together on holiday in Paris. They were together for three years but split up five months ago. Okay, guess it’s safe to say those last two news items are sad news for us guys…
Finally, two new Hollywood babies: Rebecca Gayheart and Eric Dane welcomed their second daughter. Georgia Geraldine Dane was born on December 28, the actors’ reps told People.
And finally, Roselyn Sanchez and Eric Winter welcomed their first child this Wednesday, also according to People: their daughter Sebella Rose’s birth was confirmed by both actors on Twitter. Sanchez starred in Without A Trace, while Winter recently appeared on The Mentalist.
