In line with return of Scrubs for its seventh and final season on television, Buena Vista Home Entertainment is set to release the Scrubs: The Complete Sixth Season DVD. Fans can finally grab a copy of this much awaited DVD on Tuesday, October 30.
Created by Bill Lawrence, Scrubs is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series that infuses comedy and drama as it focuses on the professional and personal lives of several characters working at Sacred Heart, a teaching hospital. The cast includes John “J.D.” Michael Dorian (Zach Braff), Dr. Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke), and Dr. Christopher Duncan Turk (Donald Faison), among others.
Fans hoping to relive season 6 can now savor the verbose characters, hilarious storylines, and surreal vignettes of the past season with the release of the DVD which contains all 22 episodes that are contained across 3 discs.
Aside from the regular episodes, the DVD will also comprise of some bonus materials. Included in the DVD is the feature “My Making Of: ‘My Musical,’” in which Tony Award -winning composers of Avenue Q, Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx created a mini musical for the Scrubs cast. This shows patient Stephanie D’Abbruzzo, from the original cast of Broadway’s Avenue Q, as she complains that she’s constantly hearing music. Meanwhile, the entire cast of Scrubs gets into the act. This behind-the-scenes featurette takes fans from rehearsal to performance.
The special featurette “Judy Reyes Keeps Talking” follows the actress who plays Nurse Carla Espinosa as she talks about her character’s journey from pregnancy to child-birth to post-partum depression and back. She also reveals her inspirations for the character and spills a few secrets as she discusses her event-filled season.
