Smallville just killed off two of its male stars, so now there’s news that the show is casting a new male role that may or may not be Zod, the villain who arrived at the end of season 8. EW’s Michael Ausiello has the write-up for a new male role named “Mason” being cast for season 9.
According to the description, Mason is in his late 20s or early 30s, loves life, but also has a dark side. It sounds like Mason is hiding a big secret, much the same way Davis Bloom was hiding a big secret last season.
So who do you think should play “Mason” or Zod? Tomorrow I’ll have my comprehensive list of the best potential casting choices, but to get the ball rolling, here’s one possibility. Since the CW enjoys casting from within, how about Andrew St. John, formerly from the failed Life is Wild. He may be a little young for the role (27-years-old), but he’s available and, as you can see from the Life is Wild photo below, he has the body of a Smallville hunk.
Let me know who you think should play Zod and the best options will be included on my complete list tomorrow.
