Well, dance fans, all the hard work, tears and glitter (thank you, Cat Deeley!) has come down to this: tonight we learn who has won the competition.
The fantastic four of Amy Yakima, Jasmine Harper, Aaron Turner and DuShaunt “Fik-Shun” Stegall danced five times last week to win your votes, and their performances were sensational.
So which guy and girl have been chosen as America’s favorite dancers and So You Think You Can Dance champions? Before we learn that, I predict that we will celebrate this season with lots (and lots) of dancing.
Are you ready to watch some incredible dancing and find out who has won?
Buckle up for the finale, people! This is the So You Think You Can Dance live blog!
A quick programming note: the finale will continue after President Obama’s remarks this evening, so we will have to wait some extra time to find out who the winners are, so plan for the show to run a bit late.
Here is our top 20 dancers, excluding Jade Zuberi who left earlier in the season due to an injury.

Here are our JUDGES! Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy are joined by several guest judges. Tonight’s panel includes dancer and choreographer Paula Abdul, season 4 fan-favorite dancer Stephen “tWitch” Boss and the oh-so-shy director and choreographer Adam Shankman. Everyone looks smashing at the judge’s table.
Now we have the top 20 reuniting for a group dance choreographed by season 2’s Ivan. It is a fun and breezy routine set in a night club. It even incorporates tap. It is a real crowd-pleaser.
Now on to the judges’ choice for their favorite dances.
Paula Abdul‘s Choice:
Makenzie Dustman and Paul Karmiryan
“Edge of Glory”
Choreographed by Mandy Moore
This dance is lovely and dream-like.
We also have the top five moments from the auditions.
At number five is Shan Shan-the Mongolian bowl dancer from Memphis.
Tonight, the top four will also dance their favorite routine one final time.
Jasmine Harper’s Choice:
Jasmine Harper with All-Star Marko
“Blurred Lines”
Choreographed by Ray Leeper
This routine is double the fun with Jasmine and Marko wearing look-alike suits.
Adam Shankman’s Choice:
Fik-Shun with All-Star tWitch
“Hello Good Morning Remix”
Choreographed by Luther Brown
This hip-hop routine is awesome! Both tWitch and Fik-Shun have so much charisma.
Next up, the crew from the movie Battle of the Year featuring season 3’s Dominic Sandoval perform.
Nigel Lythgoe’s Choice:
Before announcing his choice, Nigel Lythgoe announces that So You Think You Can Dance has been renewed for season 11!
Alexis Juliano, Aaron Turner and Curtis Holland
“You Really Did It (Live)”
Choreographed by Anthony Morigerato
This tap routine crackles with energy and personality. It is also one of my favorite dances this season.
tWitch’s Choice:
Hayley Erbert and Nico Greetham
“Kiss of the Spider Woman”
Choreographed by Sean Cheesman
This Broadway routine is about a gypsy fortune teller. There is a lift where Nico rolls Hayley over his back by one leg. Amazing!
The next dancer being spotlighted from the audition rounds is Shane Garcia from Austin. Shane has a stuttering problem and feels that dance is his true voice.
Aaron Turner’s Choice:
Aaron Turner with All-Star Kathryn
“I’m Kissing You”
Choreographed by Stacey Tookey
This contemporary routine is understated and beautiful. Aaron and Kathryn have magical chemistry together.
Next up is a group routine choreographed by Christopher Scott featuring the top 10 guys. This routine features the dancers performing with sand. That is a bit tricky, I’m sure!
Number three on the list of most memorable auditions features a tiny dancer named Anthony from Texas.
Cat Deeley’s Choice:
Jasmine Harper with All-Star Comfort
“Run the World (Girls)”
Choreographed by NappyTabs
This hip-hop routine that features Jasmine and Comfort is full of energy and swag.
The number two most memorable moment is Mary Murphy’s private dance from Will “Cisco” Green. Hilarious!
Mary Murphy’s Choice:
Tucker Knox with All-Star Robert
“Medicine”
Choreographed by Travis Wall
This dance is one of the most emotional performances of the season. This contemporary number, about second chances, is danced by two dancers who survived life-threatening accidents. It is stunning.
The Top 20 Dancers
“Puttin’ on the Ritz”
Choreographed by NappyTabs
This complex opening routine follows the dancers around backstage and features Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy dancing. It is fun, pure and simple.
Jenna Johnson with All-Star Mark
“I Am the Best”
Choreographed by Mark Kanemura
This crazy and wildly weird (and wonderful) dance defies explanation, or words even. It is definitely unforgettable.
Amy Yakima’s and Fik-Shun’s Choice:
“After Party”
Choreographed by NappyTabs
This dynamic duo actually chose the same routine. It is the return of the hip-hop bellhops!
Oh my! Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy are performing a hip-hop routine to “Let’s Get It On.” Let’s say it is “inspired” by Amy and Fik-Shun’s routine set in a diner. Adam Shankman slides across the floor and upstages them both. I love it!
The number one most memorable moment happened in Boston when we met “Movement Box.” This dancer and beat boxer are performing together live on the stage.
Amy Yakima with All-Star Travis
“Wicked Game”
Choreographed by Travis Wall
This routine was chosen by fans on Twitter. It is a mesmerizing dance, and the best dance of the season, in my opinion.
Now we have a beach-themed group routine from the top 10 dancers and the All-Stars. It has a surfer-vibe.
The time is finally here: the person who got the most votes last week is a girl.
The Results
