On Friday, September 14, actress Stacy Haiduk will return as Hannah Nichols, Zachary Slater’s (Thorsten Kaye) ex-lover, on ABC’s hit daytime drama, All My Children. Viewers last saw Haiduk in May, but before she left the show, the 39-year-old actress told executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers of her desire to return to the show.
“I just told her, ‘This is so much fun. I’d love to come back. I have no idea how this works, but…’ And she said, ‘You know, let’s see what happens.’ I’m very blessed that I got ‘Hannah comes back!’ It’s pretty awesome,” Haiduk told Soap Opera Digest.
Haiduk, known for portraying Lana Lang in the Superboy series, first joined the cast of All My Children in March. While working on the series, she came to enjoy the more flexible work schedule of daytime television.
“Probably in the middle of shooting [my first run], I looked at Thorsten and I said, ‘This is so much fun. You guys are the luckiest people on earth because you get to have a life outside of work as well,” Stacy Haiduk recalled to Soap Opera Digest. “In nighttime, you work 14 or 15 hours a day, you come home exhausted, and that’s it. Here, you usually work the morning shift or the afternoon shift.”
Before Stacy Haiduk‘s Hannah left Pine Valley in May, she had asked Zach to impregnate her, though it wasn’t revealed whether or not Zach gave in to her plea. Surprisingly, even Haiduk was left in the dark, but now that she’s returning to All My Children, the actress said “we’ll all find out very soon.” She also said her character’s decision to return to Pine Valley was prompted by her desire to help out Zach.
Apart from her involvement with Zach, Hannah is also expected to form a friendship with Krystal Carey, played by Emmy award-nominated actress Bobbie Eakes.
“It’s nice… that they’re taking her out of Cambias and letting Hannah see what webs she can weave elsewhere,” Haiduk told Soap Opera Digest. “There are some great scenes and I think Bobbie’s excited, too.”
