It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Superman…on the CW! Again. It’s now official that in the second season of Supergirl, which is moving from CBS to the CW, Superman, aka Kara’s cousin Clark Kent, will visit National City. The iconic character will appear in the first two episodes of the season.
The show is currently in the casting process, but needless to say it’s a big role to fill. Supergirl executive producer Andrew Kreisberg explained that the show is “beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl. Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!”
Of course this won’t be the first time that Clark Kent appears on the CW as Tom Welling played him on Smallville for 10 seasons. And the expanded universe of Greg Berlanti DC Comic dramas on the CW even has another Superman already since Legends of Tomorrow‘s Brandon Routh played the superhero in a film.
Does Superman’s arrival have something to do with the mysterious pod that crash landed in the season 1 finale? Who do you think should play the newest TV Superman?
Supergirl season 2 will air Mondays at 8pm on the CW this Fall.
