Another woman is coming to the CW’s Supernatural, but don’t worry, she won’t be trying to seduce Sam or Dean. According to TVLine, Shannon Lucio is joining the show’s ninth season as a potential love interest for ex-angel Castiel.
Lucio will first appear in the third episode of season 9, airing October 22, as April Kelly, and she will be moving in on Cas. At the end of season 8, the angel Castiel became a human after his Grace was removed. Fans have seen the angel woo a woman before when the demon Meg kissed him, resulting in awkward hilarity.
Shannon Lucio may be best known for guest roles on The O.C. and Prison Break. She also appeared on Grey’s Anatomy and the short-lived supernatural drama The Gates.
New Season 9 Poster
In addition to the casting of Lucio, check out the newly released poster for Supernatural season 9. The tagline “Prepare for the Fall” is quite appropriate given all the falling angels behind the boys. Also, the fact that Mark Sheppard‘s Crowley is in the poster bodes well for a lot more from the King of Hell who may or may not have been successfully un-demonized at the end of last year. He didn’t show up until halfway through the fifth season, but he’s the fifth most prominent star of the show behind Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins and Jim Beaver.
Supernatural season 9 begins Tuesday, October 8 at 9pm on the CW.
