Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from dwelling on the impending apocalypse. Last week’s episode of Supernatural was a welcome change of pace from the darkness that has pervaded season 4, but it looks like the bleak tone will return in tomorrow night’s installment. The episode, entitled “Yellow Fever,” finds Sam and Dean investigating the deaths of some men who appear to have died of fright. Are their deaths the cause of some strange illness, or is there a nefarious force on the loose?
To get fans ready for tomorrow night’s Supernatural, we have two surprisingly funny clips from the episode.
The CW’s official episode description reads: “Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate the mysterious deaths of several men who apparently dropped dead of fright. They visit one of the victims in the morgue, and Dean becomes infected with the illness which starts as a general anxiety, then moves on to full-blown terror that eventually stops the heart. Sam and Bobby must find the root of the disease before Dean dies and is sent back to Hell.”
“Yellow Fever” will likely be a fairly intense episode, but you wouldn’t know it from the two hilarious clips that have been released. The first finds Dean driving the Impala like he’s an 85-year-old grandmother, which Sam finds rather strange. It’s not like Dean to go 20 miles-per-hour in even the most low-key of situations. Once Sam’s fancy EMF reader goes off, it becomes clear that Dean might be haunted.
The second clip is fairly simple, but it’s also completely awesome. Sam walks up to the Impala and finds Dean rocking out to Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” for no apparent reason. That’s the extent of the clip, but what more do you need? We all need to rock out to the inspirational anthem from Rocky III every now and then. Maybe that’s how Dean copes with his fear.
The new episode of Supernatural airs Thursday at 9pm on the CW.
