Like most fans, I find myself feeling both excited and scared as we move closer to Supernatural‘s third season finale. I’m excited because I know that the show always delivers a fantastic season ender, but I’m frightened by the prospect of Dean’s time running out. Will he go to Hell, or will he escape the deal at the last minute? Perhaps an even more important question is: Will the writers wrap everything up before the episode comes to a close, or will we be left with a terrible cliffhanger to mull over all summer?
To get fans prepared for Thursday night’s season finale, entitled “No Rest for the Wicked,” we have two exciting clips from the episode.
The CW’s official description for the episode reads: “It’s 30 hours before Dean’s (Jensen Ackles) deal with the Crossroads demon is up and Dean, Sam and Bobby are searching for Lilith, who holds the contract. They discover her location, and Sam summons Ruby for help despite Dean’s protests. Ruby warns them they aren’t ready to fight Lilith yet, but they steal her knife and depart for New Harmony, Indiana. In a battle to the death, Sam, Dean and Bobby take on Lilith and all her demons in a last ditch effort to save Dean’s life.”
The first clip from the episode shows Sam (Jared Padalecki) reassuring Dean that he’s not going to go to Hell. Dean glances at his brother, and in a very creepy moment he sees Sam’s face distort into a demonic grimace. I have no idea what’s going on here, but it’s certainly spooky.
Dean runs into Ruby (Katie Cassidy) in the second clip, who he hilariously refers to as the “slutty little Yoda.” Ruby wants to tap into Sam’s demonic powers to help save the day, but Dean doesn’t trust her. After Dean socks Ruby in the jaw, much butt kicking ensues.
The season finale of Supernatural, “No Rest for the Wicked,” airs Thursday at 9pm on the CW.
