Bobby is back! Yes, it turns out not even death can keep one of the most beloved characters from the CW’s Supernatural from returning to the series.
Jim Beaver tweeted the exciting news, first announcing, “Try not to get too excited, but I’m coming back to SUPERNATURAL. For real.” Sorry, sir, but if I know Supernatural fans, there’s little chance of them not getting too excited by this news. A little later he added “No joke. For real. #Bobbyisback.”
We have absolutely no idea how or why Bobby Singer is back, but Beaver does, tweeting after he read the script: “Didn’t see this one coming. Whatever you think it is – it ain’t.”
The last time we saw Bobby, Sam went to Hell to save his soul, ultimately succeeding and sending him to Heaven where he belongs. Season 8 then ended with all of the angels falling from the sky. Did Bobby become an angel who then fell? Is he just returning in flashbacks?
Whatever the reason, Jim Beaver is always welcome back on Supernatural. The show returns for season 9 on its new night, Tuesday, October 15 at 9pm.
