There are a wide array of questions that plague fans of the CW’s Supernatural. Will the show be renewed for a fourth season? Will Ruby (Katie Cassidy) and Bela (Lauren Cohan) ever go away? Will Dean’s impending death be averted? However, the one question that truly rages through the internet like an uncontrollable wildfire is this: which Winchester brother is sexier? Every fan seems to have a preference between the two boys, even if it’s by a narrow margin. Now, we here at BuddyTV are going to attempt to answer this mystery once and for all. Yes, using scientific methods and the latest photographic technology, it’s finally time to crown one Winchester brother the sexier of the two.
Let’s start with the case for Sam. Sam appeals to the type of person who likes their men tall and a little bit shaggy. Jared Padalecki is actually 6’4″, so he’s bound to tower over almost anyone else around him. As for the character, Sam used to be a bit of a stick in the mud, but lately he has that bad boy thing working for him. He’s gone dark and murderous, which almost always makes any television character more appealing. Just take a look at Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Sawyer from Lost for other examples.
Sam is dark, brooding, tall, and dangerous in a way that doesn’t make him too threatening to take home to mom. In case you need photographic proof of Jared Padalecki’s natural attractiveness, here is some evidence:
No matter how dark the show gets, Dean will most likely always be more fun loving than Sam. There’s something sexy about a guy who can handle nearly any emotional trauma with a well timed quip. At 6’1″, Jensen Ackles is also closer in height to most females and would require less neck craning in the course of a relationship. As for his character, he seems to have the bad boy thing built right in. He doesn’t settle down for anyone, and he’s more notorious for his sexual innuendo than his romantic streak.
Dean is funny, charming, and free of emotional baggage, all of which add to his sexiness level. Some would argue that these pictures don’t hurt either:
So, when you consider the nature of the two characters, coupled with the photographic evidence above, which Winchester brother comes out on top? Sexiness isn’t just about looks, but about an entire aura and personality. Surely one brother must rule over the other in this category, even if it is by an amazingly small percentage.
Because I’m a male, I don’t really feel qualified to make the final call on this controversial debate. I’m leaving this one up to you guys.
