What would our favorite TV shows be if we didn’t have that one charater in each of them who says exactly what the cynic inside all of us is thinking? Sometimes the actions of our protagonists can get over-the-top ridiculous. It’s these instances when we turn to characters like Big Bang‘s Sheldon Cooper to offer some smartass commentary. From sitcoms like this to dramas like Game of Thrones, let’s look at seven of our favorite sarcastic characters on TV.
6 Things Riverdale Could Learn from Pretty Little Liars>>>
1. Spencer Hastings, Pretty Little Liars
Probably the most grounded of the Liars, Spencer also offers the most sass. She’s the first to call you on your BS, your irrelevant comments, or just about anything she thinks is worth an eyeroll. Her dry humor comes out at all the best times, especially when she’s putting snarky mean girls in their place.
2. Dean Winchester, Supernatural
As much of a macho tough-guy as Dean is, he’s nothing without that sense of humor we love so much. Humor is something Dean uses as a defense mechanism when things get tough, but also something he can’t help but pull out when Castiel demonstrates his social ineptitude. Maybe our favorite moments of Dean’s sarcasm are when he’s being held captive by demons or law enforcement.
3. Felicity Smoak, Arrow
Felicity’s one-liners are probably the best part about her. She’s got no problem making a quick comment that makes everyone feel uncomfortable. Felicity’s quick-wit and fearlessness to drop a comeback is a big part of what attracted Oliver to her in the first place, but its frequency is also what makes her unappealing to many Arrow fans.
4. Tyrion Lannister, Game of Thrones
Fan-favorite GoT character Tyrion Lannister has the clap-back ability that we all wish we had. No matter who you are in the Seven Kingdoms, Tyrion will call you on your crap. The funniest sarcastic moments with Tyrion have to be when he’s talking to his sister, Cersei, because he’s one of the only characters who ever actually gets to cross her. Even when he was on trial for a murder he didn’t commit, he couldn’t keep his dark humor in check. We love him for that.

5. Jughead Jones, Riverdale
In just one season, it’s become clear that Jughead is our cynical spirit animal. He asks the questions we know we shouldn’t be asking and makes light out of the darkest of situations. Remember when he asked Archie if he thought Jason’s death might get him out of gym class? Archie may not have been amused up front, but come on. His dry delivery of that was pretty hilarious.
6. Sheldon Cooper, The Big Bang Theory
While Sheldon may claim to not understand sarcasm, he’s pretty damn good at delivering it. If anything, it’s all the guy really knows. Sheldon scoffs as the emotions of his friends and quickly argues anything they’re feeling with cold, hard facts. In many ways, Sheldon is the biggest troll on the show. He’ll let Leonard, Penny or anyone else air out their issues before letting them know he wasn’t actually listening.
7. Damon Salvatore, The Vampire Diaries
This guy gets off on pushing people’s buttons. He’s got a hilarious way with words, because he’ll say just about anything to get you on the hook before tearing you down. Because he’s just so charming, he can get away with it, too. Damon can’t help but mess with people at all times. He uses his sarcasm to stay distant from everyone around him so he never gets too attached.
