Aside from the premiere of The Bachelor season 18 in January, there are other things to look forward to in the world of The Bachelor in 2014, including two weddings and a baby. Read on to find out more.
The Arrival of Baby Number Two
Melissa Rycroft, who was chosen by Jason Mesnick in season 13 before being dumped on TV for runner-up Molly Malaney, has announced that she’s expecting a baby boy in April. “I’m so excited,” she told People. “I feel very lucky that I get to experience the bond between mother and daughter and between mother and son. I hope he’s a little mama’s boy. I can’t wait to see if he’s going to be into sports like his dad or more artsy.”
Rycroft, who already shares a daughter, Ava, with husband Tye Strickland, had a feeling that she’d be having a boy this time. “With Ava, my pregnancy was smooth sailing,” she revealed. “With this one, from day one I was really sick. We thought it would be a boy because it was so different! Everyone thought I was hungover for 10 weeks. But finally the sickness subsided and I got my energy back.”
“We’ll probably stick to a classic style,” the 30-year-old mom and Dancing with the Stars All-Stars champ said of the baby boy’s name. “We definitely want something short and sweet that goes with Ava. Tye just wants to make sure it sounds good over a loudspeaker for when he’s on the football field!”
More Wedding Preps for Sean and Catherine
Now that Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici have set the date and sent out their save-the-date cards, the Bachelor couple are stepping up the preparations for their January 26 wedding. Not only were they spotted flower shopping in Los Angeles on Thursday by People, Sean Lowe himself tweeted that he and Catherine, whom he proposed to by the end of season 17 in Thailand, were off to Bloomingdale’s to register.
While the couple seems to enjoy the wedding planning, it seems that Sean would have done things differently if he had it his way. “I’m a guy,” he told People in March. “If it were up to me, I’d go to the courthouse tomorrow and it would be a done deal!”
Another TV Wedding
While the spotlight is on Sean and Catherine and their upcoming TV wedding, another Bachelorette couple has been set to tie the knot, most likely on TV as well. However, since Sean and Catherine have already set the date of their nuptials in January, Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried will have to wait until fall instead of their originally intended summer wedding, according to Life and Style.
“She’s very upset about not being able to get married in the summer like she’s always dreamed, but she’s willing to make the sacrifice because she would marry Chris tomorrow if she could,” the insider said. “She just wants to get married so bad, but still wants to be able to take advantage of having a TV wedding.”
