Though Andi Dorfman described season 10 as romantic and not so scandalous, you can still expect The Bachelorette to throw a few twists and surprises every now and then. The season premiere, as a case in point, featured an unexpected gatecrasher in the form of Chris Bukowski, a former Bachelorette contestant who wanted to meet Dorfman but was instead denied the opportunity to join the competition. Whether his appearance was scripted or not, it was one of the highlights from the season opener that continues to be a hot topic among the stars of the ABC reality dating franchise, including The Bachelorette season 8 star, host Chris Harrison, Dorfman and Bukowski himself.
The Bachelorette Season 10 Premiere Recap: Andi Meets Her Shy, Sober Suitors>>>
Emily Maynard: “How could I not mention Chris Bukowski showing up out of nowhere, apparently using his ‘Bachelorette-Radar’ to sense there was a new girl at the mansion? Does he just sit out there and wait for hot girls to show up or what? Call me crazy, but I think the more reasonable, definitely less embarrassing decision would’ve been to call one of your mutual friends and get her phone number. But then all of us at home would’ve missed out on all of the awkward, awesomeness between Chris Harrison basically laughing at him, the sweet security guard, and then the ultimate shut down from Andi. So, here’s to hoping Chris shows up on every season, gives us great entertainment, and eventually finds the love of his life!”
Chris Harrison: “I’m really interested to hear everybody’s thoughts on Chris Bukowski and his surprise visit. I know some will think that we were in on it, but we really weren’t. It was a grand gesture by him to show up like that and I hated being the one to look him in the eye and tell him it wasn’t going to happen. At first I wasn’t sure if he was sincere or not, but after talking to him I could tell he was really wanting to just meet this woman. I appreciated his passion but I had to respect Andi’s decision not to let him up to the house. Part of me was secretly hoping he would make a run for it and try to get into the house — that wouldn’t have ended well, but it would have made for an interesting night. At the end of the day, I was glad he decided to exit quietly and without incident.”
The Bachelorette First Impressions: The Top 5 Guys for Andi Dorfman>>>
Andi Dorfman: “I watched Emily’s season of the show and had heard of Chris Bukowski. I was flattered that such an attractive guy came all that way to meet me. There was a minute when I was thinking, “What if he is the one for me?” After I really thought about it, though, I knew what the 25 men went through to step out of their limos and out of respect for them, I didn’t want to invite someone else into the mix. The fact that I turned down the opportunity to meet Chris – that hopefully shows how strongly I felt about the group of guys that I had. Although it didn’t work out with Chris, I want to wish him the best in the future.”
Chris Bukowski: “I was initially interested in meeting her towards the end of Juan Pablo’s season. I thought she was really pretty and really smart. So I started talking to the producers about the idea of me showing up there. At the time, it was something I wanted…It was pretty unfortunate. In any situation where someone flies across the country for you, you should at least walk outside to talk to them.”
Play Fantasy TV: Predict Who’s Going Home on The Bachelorette>>>
Meanwhile, Bachelor season 18 star Juan Pablo Galavis, who previously decided to distance himself from the ABC reality dating franchise, offered some unsolicited advice to Andi Dorfman on his Facebook page. He also didn’t resist taking a dig at ABC.
“Today I want to wish the BEST to you Andi Dorfman on your JOURNEY as the Bachelorette…” Galavis wrote. “I’m GLAD to hear that now you have gone THROUGH the process, some of the things that we TALKED about while we were on The Bachelor which to you seemed NEGATIVE, became your REALITY during 2 months of filming. Thanks for being one of Nikki’s best friends, no one in the world wants BETTER for you than Mi Catira and I know you do for her also. You were lucky Nikki was your best friend and I CHOSE her jajaja, cause if not who was gonna HELP give you TIPS for your contract before the show, and explain you VERY well what you were getting into jejeje. It was GREAT Facetiming with you and also seeing you and Nikki smile to each other after a few months APART.”
“I Wish you the BEST and hope you follow the MOST important advice I gave you, to STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF at all times and not to fear what 20 hours of a show could look like,” he added. “As long as you can put your head on your PILLLOW and be totally at PEACE, knowing that you did the right thing and that you weren’t a PUPPET, like TONS of other people who decided to do this show. I WON’T be watching the show and I don’t want you to FEEL that is because of you, I would just RATHER wait till the END and for you to tell me EXACTLY how your experience was. I have NEVER seen The Bachelor or Bachelorette before I was on it, and watched just because I wanted to know how my AMAZING experience would be portrayed on a TV show. The result, you know IT… jejeje. Best wishes and like I said, HOPE you STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF, but if not, It’s OK… jejejeje Besitos, Juan Pablo Galavis.”
What did you think of Chris Bukowski’s appearance? Should Andi have given him a chance? And what do you think of Juan Pablo’s advice to Andi?
