With Heroes out of the picture, NBC is bringing in The Cape, a one-hour drama that features, well, The Cape.
The series revolves around ER‘s David Lyons as Vince Faraday, an honest cop who gets framed for a series of murders and left for dead after a chase. Forced into hiding, he leaves behind his wife Dana (Jennifer Ferrin) and son Trip (Ryan Wynott).
But: determined to take the law into his own hands, he trains and becomes The Cape. If other superheroes have capes for aesthetic reasons, The Cape‘s cape is actually his main weapon.

Also on the upcoming NBC series are James Frain as billionaire Peter Fleming, The Cape’s nemesis Chess; Keith David as Max, Vince’s trusted mentor and trainer; Summer Glau as investigative blogger Orwell who becomes Vince’s sidekick; and Dorian Missick as Mart, a former police detective and a friend of Vince’s.
