As if time travel isn’t already confusing, The Flash is about to get more complicated as it heads to its third season. Lead star Grant Gustin recently revealed the title of the season three opener, which speaks volumes about the direction of the series.

On Monday Gustin revealed on Twitter that he read the script for the new season. Executive producer Greg Berlanti then gave Gustin his blessing to actually reveal the title.
FLASHPOINT. This is not drill. https://t.co/nzq2NJh9pl

For those who are not familiar with the DC Comics, Flashpoint is a game-changing storyline in which Barry wakes up in an alternate timeline with no powers. While his mother is alive, Captain Cold is actually Central City’s biggest hero. Barry later realizes that the alternate timeline is his fault for changing history, since he went back in time to save his mother from the Reverse-Flash.
So how close will the CW series follow the comic book? Gustin pointed out that the show will be doing its own version.
We’re definitely doing this FP thing our own way.. I’ve read Flashpoint, I’ve seen the amazing animated film. This will be its own thing.
