We saw Michael Scott (Steve Carell) doing a Jerry McGuire on the last episode of The Office, and Pam (Jenna Fischer) correspondingly doing a Renee Zellweger to join her boss as they walked out of Dunder Mifflin. As we learned, Michael isn’t exactly fond of his new boss, and he showed it, driving up to corporate to tell David Wallace that he quits.
Entertainment Weekly reports that yet another Dunder Mifflin-ite is joining Michael and Pam on their journey in financial instability. Ex-employee Ryan (BJ Novak) will allegedly be asked by Michael in the same way he asked practically everyone (that is, except Kevin, Angela, and Meredith). The love of Kelly’s (Mindy Kaling) life will say yes to the proposal, probably because Ryan is hardly in a position to refuse seeing that he’d been reduced to running a bowling alley.
It was previously reported that, contrary to speculations, this whole moving to an upstart company plot is actually intended for the long haul, and not just a momentary shtick. A lot of The Office fans are now wondering when the old cast will be back because – let’s face it – the show just isn’t the same without good old Michael at the helm. Besides, it might take a while to get used to Kevin handling the receptionist post. There was a report, though, that someone is joining The Office to be the new receptionist, so this might not be a temporary set-up.
There won’t be a new episode of The Office this week, but that is OK because we’ll be getting two new episodes on April 9. According to NBC, Jim (John Krasinski) will figure in a soccer game in the parking lot with the new boss, after the two started off on the wrong foot (because he was wearing a tux and making fun of office policy). Michael, meanwhile, has trouble leaving the house as he has concerns of facing the workforce.
